The Vocal Ensemble “Les Rossignols” is a group of young people with a passion for music who generally meet once a week for a singing class based on a predefined repertoire or at the request of a client.
Their repertoire includes classical Works, Gospel, Traditional African Songs and newer compositions.
The choir also sees itself as preparation for adolescents who aspire to a musical career.
The Peace Concert includes «Healing Light” as well as other chants that are to the theme of peace.
In addition, they invited their town’s Ste Cécile choir to join them in performing Healing Light.
The Chorale Sainte Cécile de Melen has now been in existence for almost 35 years. It is mainly made up of young people, men and women, from a variety of backgrounds, with a common aim: “Praise the Lord through classical and folk songs”, because to sing well is to pray twice.
The contact to this choir was made through the Monastery of Engelberg in Switzerland.
Mont Fébé is the daughter monastery in Yaoundé, Cameroon, founded in 1964. It is still a priory dependent on Engelberg. At present the community numbers 15 monks.
