Wellington Community Choir (New Zealand)
Founded in 2005, the choir may refer to: describes itself as “a lively community of people who like to make music. Singing for thousands of years People for joy, solemnity or to express grief in order to work to accompany with devotion or healing to support. Singing was already true always as a way to get people to unite.” With its approximately 50 members he sings both traditional Maori songs as well as new folk songs from all over the world.

The Wellington Community Choir is excited to be taking part in this international event to promote peace in the world through music. Our community of singers believes in the power of music to bring joy and peace, and to open people’s eyes and hearts to our common humanity. Over the years we have sung many songs about peace in languages from all over the world. It will be a privilege to share some of these songs with singers and audience members.”
The Peace Concert will be hosted by the Malagasy music pedagogue Lala Simpson. She firmly believes to the unifying power of singing: “I’m bringing a blank canvas with me, on which everyone paints with their voices become.”
